1. Hong Kong SAR → Singapore

Air Direct flights: HKG → SIN

Hong Kong International (HKG) to Singapore Changi (SIN). Average flight time: ~3h 50m. Flights land at Changi Terminal 1, 2, or 4 depending on the airline.

Note: For direct flights, utilize the nonstop operators listed above. Remember that Low-Cost Carriers require pre-purchasing checked baggage allowances.

Taxi Ground logistics

All commercial flights depart from HKG Terminal 1. The Airport Express (MTR) takes 24 minutes from Hong Kong Station (Central). Allow 2–3 hours for international check-in.
Download the Grab or Zig app before arrival, and ensure your SG Arrival Card is submitted within 3 days of arrival. Ride-hailing pick-up zones are clearly signposted at all Changi Airport terminals. Travel to the city centre takes approximately 20 minutes outside peak hours.
Singapore Changi Airport consistently ranks among the world’s best, offering fast, seamless, and stress-free arrivals. If time allows, a visit to Jewel Changi is highly recommended.

2. Singapore → Kuala Lumpur

Air Option A: Seletar / Changi → Subang (City Airport) Recommended

  • Singapore Changi T2 (SIN) & Seletar (XSP) → Subang SZB: Operated by Firefly (~6 daily flights via ATR72 turboprop).
  • Singapore Changi T4 (SIN) → Subang SZB: Operated by Batik Air Malaysia (Boeing 737-800).
  • Singapore Changi T1 (SIN) → Subang SZB: Operated by Scoot (Airbus A320).
Flight duration is ~1h 10m.
Subang Airport offers faster clearance and a true “city airport” experience. Located 23km from Kuala Lumpur, travel time is ~25 minutes by car, compared to 60–75 minutes from KLIA (60km).

Air Option B: Changi → KLIA Standard Route

Singapore Changi (SIN) → KLIA Terminal 1 or Terminal 2 (KUL). Average flight time: ~1 hour.
(Note: Check your ticket for your Changi departure terminal; AirAsia operates from T4).
We recommend pre-booking the KLIA Ekspres to KL Sentral (28 minutes), followed by a short Grab or LRT ride to InterContinental Kuala Lumpur (~15 minutes). Alternatively, a direct Grab from KLIA takes around 55–75 minutes depending on traffic.
Transfers between KLIA (T1) and KLIA2 take 3–10 minutes. The ERL KLIA Transit shuttle train (~3–5 mins) is the preferred option, with a free shuttle bus also available (~10 minutes, 24-hour service).

Bus Option C: Executive Coach (City-to-City)

No airport security queues. Work onboard with power outlets and WiFi. Premium coaches serve meals and drinks. Total duration: 5–6 hours under normal conditions.
Aeroline departs HarbourFront Centre (SG) → TRX.
Passengers must disembark twice for immigration clearance: first at the Singapore checkpoint, and again at Malaysian customs in Johor. Large luggage may remain in the vehicle at the Singapore checkpoint, but must be brought out for customs screening in Malaysia. Ensure your Malaysia Digital Arrival Card (MDAC) is completed prior to arrival. The full crossing typically takes 20–40 minutes.
The coach option suits delegates who want to work uninterrupted and avoid airport transit entirely. Book premium options like Aeroline at least 2–3 days in advance as they sell out quickly.

Car Option D: Private Transfer (Singapore → KL via Johor Bahru)

Due to cross-border licensing regulations, direct private or small group transport from Singapore to Malaysia is not permitted. Travellers must transfer at Johor Bahru (JB), where they can continue to Kuala Lumpur by bus, train, or private transfer. Estimated journey time: 5–7 hours.
Cross-border taxi (SG → Johor Bahru):
~USD 45–60 per vehicle.

JB → Kuala Lumpur private transfer:
~USD 15–45 per person

Direct door-to-door private taxi or van services between Singapore and Kuala Lumpur are illegal for general passengers under cross-border transport regulations of both countries.

Rail Option E: Intercity Rail (KTM ETS)

Scenic and strictly traffic-immune. The KTM ETS (Electric Train Service) offers business class seating with onboard dining. Total journey: ~5–6 hours including border transfer. Book via KTMB
  1. Take the 5-minute Shuttle Tebrau train from the Woodlands Train Checkpoint (SG) across the causeway to JB Sentral (advance booking is highly recommended).
  2. Clear Singapore and Malaysian immigration at Woodlands Train Checkpoint prior to departure, then proceed directly to your KTM ETS platform upon arrival at JB Sentral.
  3. From KL Sentral, continue by Grab or LRT to the InterContinental Kuala Lumpur (~15 minutes, located near the iconic Petronas Twin Towers).

3. Hong Kong SAR → Kuala Lumpur (Direct)

Air Direct to KLIA (KUL)

Hong Kong (HKG) → KLIA Terminal 1/2 (KUL). Flight time: ~4 hours.

Air Direct to Subang SZB (City Airport)

Hong Kong (HKG) → Sultan Abdul Aziz Shah Airport, Subang (SZB). Flight time is ~4h 10m. Subang's proximity to the city offers a substantially faster overall journey time.
For the smoothest arrival to the InterContinental KL, the HKG → SZB route via HK Express is highly recommended. It shortens your airport-to-hotel transit time by roughly 35 minutes compared to KLIA.
