Sponsor Sustainability Policy

Our Aim To minimise the environmental impact of conference gifts and promotional items through thoughtful sourcing, reduced waste and practical reuse.

Basic Principles

Where possible, all items should adhere to the following principles:

1
Materials

Made from recycled, organic, renewable or responsibly sourced materials, such as FSC-certified wood or paper, recycled metals or plastics, or organic cotton. Avoid single-use plastics.

2
Longevity

Durable, functional and genuinely reusable items that provide lasting value rather than disposable novelty products.

3
Packaging

Use minimal packaging that is plastic-free and recyclable, compostable or otherwise environmentally responsible.

4
Production

Manufactured under fair labour practices and, where feasible, sourced from suppliers that can demonstrate ethical and responsible production standards.

5
Local Sourcing

Give preference to suppliers and manufacturers near the event venue to reduce transport emissions. Shipping can outweigh an item’s sustainability benefits.

How This Works in Practice

Conference goody bags / door gifts

6
Choice, Not Pre-Packing

Gift bags will not be pre-packed. Items will be displayed on a staffed gift table so attendees take only what they need.

7
Sponsor Commitment

Sponsors contributing items must confirm that the proposed gift meets at least 50% of the principles above and agree to take back all unused items.

Delivery and Local Coordination

If you are arranging items for the goody bags, please coordinate wherever possible with your local WISTA (HK, MY or SG). This will help avoid unnecessary airfreighting to the venue.

Singapore Sponsor Materials

Please deliver to Amanda Hastings, Maersk Singapore, by Friday 23 October 2026.

"Thank you for helping WISTA deliver a thoughtful, lower-waste conference experience."
